Know egg-xactly where to get NHS help this Easter
Opening times for GPs and pharmacies in Harlow, Epping Forest and Uttlesford this Easter weekend are now available.
NHS West Essex Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) is encouraging people to self-care where possible and to visit their pharmacy for help and advice on minor illnesses such as coughs, headaches and upset stomachs.
People are asked to check that they have enough medication to last them from Friday 14 April to Tuesday 18 April and to make sure they order repeat prescriptions as soon as possible if necessary.
The evening and weekend GP service is available across west Essex and patients are advised to contact their GP to book a slot if they need one, as it is not a walk-in service.
Dr Rob Gerlis, Chair of West Essex CCG says: “Making sure you choose the right healthcare service this Easter is very important. Please take note of the opening hours and, if you need to see a GP or nurse over the bank holiday weekend, please book an appointment.”
“Patients are reminded that A&E is for serious and life-threatening injuries and conditions only. NHS 111 remains available for free all day, every day, for when you need medical help fast but it’s not an emergency. It is for free from mobiles and landlines 24 hours a day, seven days a week. A trained advisor will assess your symptoms and arrange the best next steps for you.”
