Cllr Michael (Mike) Garnett

Councillor Mike Garnett is a County Councillor for the Harlow North division. He was first elected to Essex County Council in 2008 to 2012 and has served from 2016 to date, with a successful re-election in May 2021. He is currently serving on the Corporate and Policy Scrutiny Committee, and the Development and Regulation Committee, and has previously served on the Fire Authority.

He also serves on a number of outside Panels and Boards, representing Essex County Council, including the Lee Valley Regional Park Authority and the Local Highways Panel for Harlow.

He has been a District Councillor for the ward of Old Harlow for 22 years and is the Chair of the Development Management Committee.

Mike has been married to Brigitte for 35 years and has two daughters who live in New Zealand, and five grandchildren.
